Österlen Lights is an annual light festival that spreads light and warmth when the autumn darkness is at its thickest.
The event, which started in 2005, has grown to involve villages, associations, businesses and individuals throughout Österlen.
This year it's extra festive, as Sankt Olof has been named Ljusby of the Year 2024. A range of local actors, from scouts and sports clubs to village associations and cultural organisations, are working together to organise the inauguration in this charming village.
For three days in November, Österlen and its surroundings are transformed into a sea of light.
By lighting marshals, lanterns and other light sources on stairs, walls and in gardens, everyone contributes to the unique atmosphere. The aim of Österlen Lyser is to strengthen the community, support local businesses and highlight the beauty of the region even during the darker months of the year.
Whether you live in Österlen or are a visitor, you are welcome to take part in this magical tradition. Let's light up autumn together!
