Skillinge Teater is one of Österlen's largest visitor centres, consisting of a large restaurant, a very popular gin bar and three stages with a total capacity of 2,350 visitors.

The restaurant is open during various performances and cultural events. During the summer, however, the place explodes with a variety of activities, concerts and events.

During the summer, the site is filled with concerts, literary events, workshops, festivals and performing arts.

- We want everyone to feel welcome at Skillinge Theatre and therefore we offer a broad repertoire where there is always something that can suit everyone, regardless of taste and age. Our programme covers everything from the fine cultural, avant-garde to the popular and liberated, says Karin Johansson-Mex, CEO and artistic director of Skillinge Teater.

For the summer of 2025, we are inviting unique guest performances from three of the best theatre companies in Europe.

* Polar Plexus (France & Norway)

On the main concert stage we can welcome Bo Kasper Orkester, Electric Banana Bans and La Gayla Frazier. Almost every night we have events of some kind so check the event calendar here and you can continuously follow all the events we offer.

During the summer, we will also organise Österlen's Störa Choir Festival, which we expect around 250 people to sign up for. In addition, we will organise a professionally oriented performing arts festival and five high quality "Master Classes" in physical performing arts.

- We like to push the boundaries of our own artistic creation, challenging both ourselves and our visitors. The important thing for us is to be able to offer phenomenal culture and that everyone feels warmly welcome here to the place." says Karin.

Café & Restaurant & Gin Bar
Our restaurant is located next to the theatre. The restaurant is located in newly equipped premises on two floors with a ceiling height of 8 metres.

Our courtyard is a lush oasis full of flowers and hollyhocks. The patio can accommodate 100 people and the theatre restaurant itself can seat up to 150 guests.

Adjacent to the restaurant is the much appreciated Gin Bar where we collaborate with Bonalumi Bottlers, a local distillery that produces the award-winning Österlenginen. Here you can come and enjoy the cosy, relaxed environment, a place for the fine conversations, yes exactly what makes life beautiful to live.

This year we can also offer two of the theatre's beautiful apartments bookable through AirBNB, one for 8 people and the other for 7 people. These apartments are bookable during the summer and will be available for booking from Easter 2025.
