"Åsa Melin's artistic expression has largely centred on sculpture - painting - and poetry.
In addition to her paintings, her face sculptures, which she has been working on intensively in recent years, have attracted a lot of attention. Faces that represent different peoples and eras, with restful, meditative expressions in their carefully chiselled features. Sculptures that can be conjured up at will. And if. Which are then mounted on rusty old valves, driftwood or other beach finds, thereby creating a natural link to eternity. To the immortal.

Åsa wants her sculptures, like her paintings, to convey an inner stillness and calm. A kind of meditation.
Her biggest source of inspiration is the landscape she lives in. The sky that meets earth and sea.
Or as she puts it herself:
"Encounters - be it a person, a stone, a flower, a gentle spring rain or a fierce autumn storm. The encounter with the nature that surrounds us, the encounter with the silence that rests in me..."
